After more than 20-years of serving as a trustworthy neighborhood auto-technician, Mike Yost chose to put his successful career on hold, and literally “walk the walk” knocking on over 12,000 doors to gather signatures necessary to qualify for the August Republican primary ballot. He and his wife Debra share a home in Jacksonville and have two children and five grandchildren.
Mike has dedicated his life to serving others, and when weighing whether or not to run for Congress in 2009 Mike’s decision came down to whether or not he needed to follow his heart and give the people of the 3rd District hope for the first time in 20 years.
Mike decided that as a good American, as well as a good husband, father and grandfather, he had to run for office to fight for the people of district 3 and end the destructive policies of career politicians.
Mike and Debra are active members of the Jones Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fl. and attend services regularly.
