ObamaCare Fallout Just Beginning- Job Losses to Grow

In a moment of “I told you so”, the reality of ObamaCare is already showing the true fallout from this legislation:

More American Jobs Lost.

Needless to say, Rep. Corrine Brown’s claim of “People need health care” was nothing more than cover for the sham and scam this legislation truly is. AT&T, Caterpillar, John Deere, and countless others are announcing millions/billions of dollars of new taxes and the prospect of countless millions of workers losing their jobs over the need to trim back payrolls to avoid the taxes and reduce the losses under ObamaCare. Even the Medical Equipment manufacturers are looking to take their factories overseas and the Chinese will once again be the victors of ObamaCare as more Americans lose their jobs.

So where is the Health Care Rep. Brown promised? It is non-existent as most things Rep. Brown has promised to the people of this District. Those benefits of this bill have a four year wait to even begin to happen. The taxes and fees begin immediately.

But the simple fact is, if you have no job and no prospects for a job, health care is the farthest thing from ones mind. To most people, keeping a roof over their heads, food on the table, and the utilities turned on have far more importance when you are no longer employed.

The other day, I met a man who had been out of work for nearly 18 months as a construction worker. He would spend the early morning waiting at the day-labor pool hoping for a job to come along that needed his particular talent. That day, it didn’t happen so he visited the local Plasma Center to donate plasma, receive a small sum of cash that he was using to eat with. His day consisted of trying to find work, having enough money to most likely eat his only meal (breakfast, because it is the cheapest meal of the day), and to sleep in his truck at night. He was angry and rightfully so. He only wanted a JOB. The rest he could handle once the JOB was in place. THAT is the American Spirit Rep. Brown doesn’t understand.

To Rep. Brown, this is just too bad. No, she would rather tell us how we need health care and NOT spend time understanding the needs of the people who live and raise their families in the District. I doubt health care has much meaning to this unemployed construction worker, but having a full time job that allows him to put a roof over his head and food in his stomach would mean far more that a health insurance policy.

My question for Rep. Corrine Brown is simple- Will the IRS agents visit him simply because he didn’t purchase health care and he is forced to pay the fines?

I think Rep. Brown is so out of touch it really doesn’t matter to her.  She has promised the people of this District the MOON, and can’t even deliver a MOON PIE.

It is time the people of this District have real Representation that understands the needs of this District and the people who live here. I bring the plan to create the JOBS people really want, OPPORTUNITY people want their children and grandchildren to have, and the FREEDOM from an over-reaching government that is destroying the very basic foundation of America.

It is time for Liberty and Freedom to work once again as our Founders envisioned and end this corrupt, Big Money Special Interest influence on Washington to give our nation back to WE THE PEOPLE with common sense, Conservative government.

I want to be the one who is “Taking YOUR voice to D.C.” in 2010. Please contribute to the campaign to make that possible and keep the momentum growing for a Victory for the American People in 2010.

Seminole Power Shelves New Plant- Regulations Kill 1,500+ Jobs

Today, Seminole Electric shelved a 3rd unit construction project at their Putnam County facility. With that announcement, the energy needs for growth in Putnam and Clay counties went with it. This coal fired unit was going to the largest of the generation units and capable of producing 750 megawatts of new, much needed electricity for Putnam and Clay counties. Seminole is one of the major suppliers of the Clay Electric Cooperative.

This project, located in the heart of the 3rd Congressional District, would have created over 1,500 new construction jobs at a time when the construction trades are at an all time low. Add to that, the economic impact it would have created to a very hard hit area because of this recession just washed down the St. Johns River with this announcement.

Seminole company spokesman, Jeff Fela announced the end of the project:

“because of the uncertain regulatory and legal environment related to coal-fired generation.”

Add to this, the price of coal is expected to rise with the closure of several coal projects in West Virginia due to the EPA revoking the licenses of several coal mines being planned. Consolidated Coal also announcing their “Christmas bonus” for 600 employees in their central West Virginia operations. They would be losing their jobs- all due to EPA regulations and permits possibly being revoked.

Mike’s statement is simple and to the point:

“This is but another indication of the insanity coming from this Administration’s policies. It’s not about creating private sector jobs but about government once again forcing an agenda on the energy needs of this District and this nation.”

Mike further added,

“They would rather spend $2.6 BILLION of taxpayers dollars on a SunRail project that is going to lead to taxpayers subsidizing millions annually than allow private enterprise to meet the future energy needs of our nation. This is but another example of abject failure of government and the insanity it is creating for our nations future.”

This project would have allowed more development in one of the most economically depressed areas of Florida. Again, it shows the failure of leadership by Rep. Corrine Brown for the people of Clay and Putnam counties. Instead, she would rather build a commuter rail project from Tampa to Orlando that is not going to meet the objectives of ridership that will reduce capacity on I-4. There is no transportation modalities at the ends of this project, and when people are going to want to see one of their kids at a ball game or school event, there is no way to get there except to drive.

Once again, Mike sees the wasteful spending and calls it what it is- more budget busting failures from Rep. Corrine Brown. To use the reasoning that “if we don’t use it (Stimulus money) for this, then some other State will” is far from justification enough to build the Sunrail. It was touted as “high speed rail” and now it is nothing more than a 61 mile above ground commuter rail project almost identical to the Tri Rail in S. Florida that consumes $10-15 million in taxpayers dollars. It’s wasteful “Spend and Tax” at it’s finest and more generational theft from the resulting debt.

The failed and forced policies of this Administration and the Pelosi/Reid/Corrine Brown Congress would rather put real JOBS, real economic growth, and the real job creators out in the cold and build a railroad that Putnam and Clay counties will pay for.

If you agree with Mike and want to see an end to the misguided and costly job-killing regulations, then your contribution today will bring real, common sense Conservative leadership to Washington. Bring real economic growth, real jobs, and real prosperity to the 3rd District by helping elect Mike and telling Rep. Corrine Brown to file her retirement paperwork.

Jobs Report Shows Stimulus Plan Not Working

With the release of today’s jobs report, another 263,000 jobs were lost by Americans nationwide. The report does not mention the numbers who have given up on finding a job nor the number of workers who have opted for early retirement due to the bleak jobs outlook for the future.

Instead we get the same tired Democratic rhetoric about how fantastically wonderful this near trillion dollar “stimulus” spending and debt has worked. Michael “Mike” Yost, Conservative candidate for the 3rd Congressional District of Florida commented:

“The American workers aren’t interested in cheap words, they want JOBS! The inability of this Administration and the Democrat controlled Congress to understand that Depression era fiscal policy didn’t work then and won’t work now is astounding. The Great Depression didn’t end until a world war forced the U.S. factories to gear up for military production and to start hiring people. When people had money to spend from the JOBS created, the Depression ended.”

Yost went on to further add:

“With a weakening dollar, government debt approaching $12 Trillion, and more debt being piled on the American taxpayer, one doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand that the problem is too much government. The next step in this entire economic mess is inflation and that will further weaken our ability to recover. Results of this Administration’s and Congressional policy are dismal and until they realize the necessity to cut the size and scope of government, our businesses and industries are going to continue the collapse they are experiencing.”

The current Representative, Corrine Brown, seems to think that the problem is in Tallahassee and that the “stimulus” funds haven’t been released. It is painfully obvious that Ms. Brown has no clue what happened to the funds and where they are being spent. Even more painfully obvious is that no amount of government spending and the resulting debt is going to make the economic situation any better for our small businesses and industries. They are being looked upon as nothing more than a source of revenue for government and their destruction is inevitable as profits continue to decline. No one can hire when your outgo is greater than your income and these are simple facts any 1st semester high school economics student could understand.

Support Mike Yost as he brings bold initiatives forward to bring about real tax reform and real government spending reductions that will revive our economy and bring American jobs back to anyone who wants one. Our people are desiring the Liberty to be self-sufficient and responsible for their own families and adding more government spending and the need for more in taxes is not going to solve our issues.

Support Mike in his efforts to bring the REAL change to Washington with accountability to “We the People” of the United States. It’s time to end the waste, corruption, and spending that has caused this crisis and bring real leadership to the 3rd Congressional District of Florida.
